Guided Prompting for AI Accessibility

Building with AI: AI Helper for TTM Subscribers

Introducing the AI Prompt Helper: Your New Social Media Assistant

This week, I'm excited to share something special with you. I've built an AI helper app, and this tool is designed to make your social media content generation easier, faster, and more consistent.

This tool is my gift to you, loyal readers and subscribers of TheTechMargin. To access it, you need to enter your email address. I'll also guide you through how to use the tool and explain its purpose.

The Inspiration Behind the AI Prompt Helper

As many of you know, I'm co-hosting a Women in AI workshop later this month with my entrepreneurial colleague Julia Coit of Capital H. While preparing for this event, I've been reflecting on how challenging AI can be for everyday users.

With years of experience as a software engineer, my goal has always been to build solutions that make things easier and faster, freeing up time for high-value creative thinking. AI is a powerful multi-tool, but it often needs more user interfaces that are efficient and tailored to individual needs. That's why I created the AI Prompt Helper—to simplify the process of generating content while giving you the control to fine-tune your outputs.

Building with AI: My 24-Hour Sprint

This was also an opportunity for me to try something new—using AI as my coding assistant. Over the past 24 hours, I've used AI to build this tool, and I want to share my build-in-public process with you. You can learn from my experience and take advantage of the free tools available to you as a subscriber of TheTechMargin.

I've learned that AI makes the development process much faster, but it still requires technical expertise. As I've mentioned in previous articles, AI as an assistant won't replace domain knowledge, but it will change how we apply it. I believe AI will lead to more modular development in the programming world, where developers focus on assembling solutions using pre-built components.

Instead of writing code from scratch, you'll use natural language to instruct AI on what to build, then test and evaluate the results. That's precisely what I've done in creating this tool—AI acted as my partner, and together, we built something valuable in a fraction of the time.

The Future of Accessibility in AI Development

One of the most exciting aspects of AI is how it will simplify the creation of accessible applications. When building with accessibility in mind, AI becomes a powerful tool that can transform the way users interact with technology. Imagine applications that can seamlessly translate text into audio, video, or images and vice versa. This ability allows us to create instructions, forms, and interfaces that adapt to users' needs on the fly, offering multiple ways to engage with the same content.

I've been mulling over this concept of adaptive interaction for a while, and it inspired me to conceptualize "the face of AI as an application" last year. The AI Prompt Helper is one of the first steps toward realizing that vision. With this tool, users can engage with content in ways that best suit their preferences—whether through guided prompts, downloadable files, or simplified content creation workflows.

Accessibility and flexibility will be essential as we build tools prioritizing user needs. The goal is not just to make technology more accessible but also to make it intuitive and responsive, capable of interacting with users as naturally and effectively as possible.

What the AI Prompt Helper Does

So, what does the AI Prompt Helper do? If you've ever tried to generate social media content with AI tools like ChatGPT, you might have noticed that the results can vary, especially if you're unsure about how to frame your inputs. The AI Prompt Helper addresses this by guiding you through the prompt creation process, helping you get better, more consistent results tailored to your needs.

Here's a breakdown of how it works:

  • The tool will ask you a series of simple questions, prompting you to fill out input forms that will help refine your content generation.

  • Once you've completed the input forms, click Generate Text File, and a .txt file will download to your computer. This file contains multiple iterations of social media content or long-form content, depending on your needs.

  • Afterward, click the Open GPT in New Tab button. This will open a custom GPT instance called Team Social that I've built specifically for you.

  • You'll upload the .txt file directly into the Team Social app, and it will generate results based on your inputs. You don't need to type anything—upload the file and let AI do the rest.

This tool is designed to help you structure your prompts, add context, and ensure that your AI-generated content is consistent and valuable without worrying about it. It's a simple, tidy way to improve your AI results.

Accessing the AI Prompt Helper (Beta Version)

I'm releasing the AI Prompt Helper in beta, and you, my subscribers, are my beta testers! More functionality will be added in the future, and this tool will likely evolve into a premium offering. It's free to use for now as long as you're subscribed.

If you're not yet subscribed, no worries—head over to the product page, enter your email, and I'll subscribe you. You can unsubscribe anytime if not for you, but I require your email address to use the tool.

The Future of AI in Development

As I look forward to expanding this tool, I'm excited about the potential for AI in development. AI will continue to assist developers, but it won't replace the need for technical knowledge. Instead, developers will act more like system architects, using human language to instruct AI and relying on their expertise to assess and improve the results.

This is the future of programming—one where AI works alongside us as a helpful assistant, making our work more efficient and allowing us to focus on creative and high-value tasks.
